Shoppers and Retailers will get some extra festive cheer as Surrey Heath Borough Council is providing free parking in the run-up to Christmas.
Every Thursday from 22nd November to Christmas, many of camberley shops and businesses will be open late until 8.00pm.
Working with its town centre partners Collectively Camberley, the Mall Corporation and the Atrium, the council is providing free parking in its Camberley town centre car parks from 5pm on these late night shopping evenings so that visitors can take advantage of the great leisure and retail opportunities available in the town centre.
Car Park users will save up to £4.50 per evening meaning they will have more money to spend with local businesses on presents and treats.
The Atrium is offering free parking in its car park on the same evenings making an evening out in Camberley’s premier leisure venue that more affordable.
Executive portfolio holder for transformation Cllr Colin Dougan , said: “Camberley has an excellent mix of shops, as well as restaurants, cafes and other leisure facilities, making it a great place to do your shopping.
“We are pleased to support the town centre, its shoppers, retailers and businesses by waiving parking charges for late night shopping on Thurdays over the next five weeks.”
The first of the five evenings on the 22nd November kicks of with the town centres Christmas Lights Switch On and Lantern Parade from 5.30pm in the High Street.
